"We are a family run business located in Summerland, British Columbia. We have been roasting small batch coffee since 2003. In our backyard roasting barn, everything is done by hand. Our mission is to stay small and hands on. We roast batches in an antique, fully manual 12kg Probat roaster. Love and attention are put into every roast.
The beans we roast come from all around the globe and are the highest grade of organic available. As well, they are all ethically correct, “farmer friendly” beans. All but three are either certified organic, UTZ certified, Rainforest Alliance or all of the above. The three single not certified organic beans are Cuban, Brazilian and Burundi, all of which are organic by default, grown by farmers who do not have the money or resources to become certified." "These are only a few words that describe who we are and what we believe in. Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Dundarave Olive Company showcases unique flavours and craftsmanship in every product.
We at Dundarave Olive Company believe in quality and freshness. All of our products are made to order, from scratch in our commercial kitchen in North Vancouver."
"Our mission has not changed since we started farming: to grow high quality and quantity eggs and vegetables in a sustainable, ethical fashion that honours people, animals, and our environment."
Hens at Lockwood Farms are treated with the highest ethical standards; they're provided free-range access to sunlight, dust baths, water, pasture, and biologically appropriate protein-rich feed. Lockwood Farms partners with Canadian company Enterra to feed their hens Black Soldier Fly larvae, a conscious decision that benefits both the environment and the hen's welfare. Insects are a natural part of a chicken's diet, however, conventional farming practices tend towards corn or soy feed. Soy crops farmed for animal feed are unsustainable and create more waste per acre; they also contain fewer essential amino acids in comparison. By making the switch, Lockwood Farms has proven their continuous dedication to environmental sustainability and animal welfare.
Promise Valley Farm & Creamery was established in 2021 by husband-and-wife team Mark and Caroline Nagtegaal. They are a small, family-run certified organic dairy farm in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Using regenerative farming practices, their dairy is free of pesticides, chemicals, and additives. Their grass-fed Guernsey cows are free to roam on their 25 acres of pasture and are treated with the highest ethical standards.
Tommy's Whole Grain opened in Vancouver in December 2023. Their products are proudly made with 100% organic whole grains and are milled and slow fermented in-house. We're super impressed by their commitment to reducing food waste and their locally cultivated grains! Tommy's Whole Grain Bakery sources its organic grains from Cedar Isle Farms in Agassiz, BC.
Brian and Kendra Harvey started their farming experience in Chilliwack BC in 2016. After starting with breeding registered Nigerian Dwarf goats, free range chickens, ducks and turkeys, and Red Russian garlic they decided it was time for something bigger. With a passion for farming they decided to relocate their family of 4 (plus two dogs, two cats, herd of goats, and a handful of chickens) to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island in 2020. They found a beautiful 40 acre property backing onto the Nanaimo river, and brought some new additions to the farm; a number of speckled park cattle, pigs, and handful of ducks and turkeys. They have adapted the farm over the past few years and have a heavy focus on Grass fed beef, Hay, and farrow to finish pasture raised pork.
